Barrio Youth Alternatives is a student propelled project designed to capture the interest of youths. Primarily from South Central Los Angeles, the youth are exposed to alternatives in life-styles and to educational opportunities. These youths are considered high risk individuals who, for various reasons, are or may be likely become involved in gang activities or drop out of school. BAYA works with Jefferson High School and Lincoln Middle School offering tutorials and mentorships, recreational events, field trips, and cultural enrichment forums.
